Server rules
The Server rules module holds your server’s rule articles, publishes them on Discord in a message kept up to date automatically, and can gate access to the server on accepting them.
Writing the articles
Section titled “Writing the articles”The New Rule button opens the form:
- Rule title (required), for example Respect and courtesy.
- Emoji (optional), standard or custom.
- Detailed description, which supports Markdown.
- Active and visible rule: controls its public visibility and its synchronisation.
A live preview shows the result to the right of the form.
Ordering
Section titled “Ordering”Articles can be reordered by drag and drop, or with the Move Up and Move Down buttons. The dashboard order is the published message order.
Each article carries a Visible or Hidden badge, and the header shows how many articles are active out of the total.
Deleting
Section titled “Deleting”Deletion asks for confirmation.
Publishing on Discord
Section titled “Publishing on Discord”- Pick the Publish Channel. With no channel, Kotbo refuses to publish.
- Click Publish rules.
- After a change, Update message refreshes the existing message rather than creating a new one.
Automatic synchronisation keeps the Discord message aligned with the dashboard list. Every publication is announced in the staff announcement channel; no member is notified by direct message.
Arrival flow (Verification tab)
Section titled “Arrival flow (Verification tab)”The Arrival flow shows what a new member goes through before accessing the server, in order. Every step is optional and shows whether it is On or Off.
- Entry captcha: blocks automated accounts on arrival. It is also set from Anti-raid (Open Anti-raid) and needs that module to be on.
- Identity verification: spots alt accounts through a Discord login. It is also set from Suspicious accounts and needs that module to be on.
- Rules acceptance: the member accepts the published rules in one click and gets their role.
- “I accept” button: adds the button under the published rules. It appears or disappears the next time the rules are published.
- Assigned role: the role given on click. Empty, Kotbo creates a
Verifiedrole on the first click. - Hide other channels: until they accept, the member only sees the rules channel.
Watch out for permissions
Hiding other channels can create Discord permission conflicts and accidentally give @everyone read access to some private channels. Check that your private channels explicitly deny the read messages permission to the @everyone role before turning it on.
Who manages the rules (Access tab)
Section titled “Who manages the rules (Access tab)”The Access tab picks which staff roles can view or edit the rules.
