Quests

Quests give your members a reason to come back every day: a concrete objective, and a reward in currency and XP.

The Economy & games → Quests section: Open quests ↗. Coin rewards assume the Economy & RPG module is on.

The indicators

• Configured quests: how many quests have been created in total.
• Active quests: the ones currently offered.
• Claimed rewards: how many rewards were actually paid out.

Rewards pay out on their own

There is nothing left to claim: the quest pays on the action that reaches the target, and the XP goes through the leveling system - level-up, reward roles and announcement included. The former /quests claim subcommand is gone.

Creating a quest

Click New quest. Kotbo first offers pre-configured templates:

Type

Send messages, Voice minutes, React to messages, Win a game, Earn coins, Give +rep, Create threads, Reply to messages.

Frequency and target

Daily or Weekly, with the number to reach.

Rewards

An amount in coins and an amount in XP.

Managing existing quests

Each quest card shows its target, its coins and XP rewards, and its number of participations.

Three actions are available:

• Disable: the quest stops being offered without being deleted.
• Enable: puts it back into circulation.
• Delete: removes it permanently.

Disable rather than delete

A disabled quest keeps its participation history. That is the right move for a seasonal quest you plan to bring back later.

When no quest exists, Kotbo shows No quest configured and invites you to click New quest.
