Community site

The Community site gives the server a public site, at dash.kotbo.fr/s/your-server. Kotbo builds it from your server - pages for active modules, latest announcements, live activity - then you polish it in a visual editor, several people at once.

While there is no site, the page offers Create the server’s site:

  1. Pick the Site address (lowercase letters, digits and hyphens).
  2. Pick the Community type: it decides the sample pages.
  3. Click Create the site.

Kotbo then builds the site in a few seconds: channels, active modules and latest announcements. The site starts offline: only staff can see it, visitors get a holding page.

The overview tells whether the site is Online or Offline, gives its Address with Copy link, and counts pages, wiki and blog.

  • Open private preview shows the site as it will be published.
  • Site online publishes it: anyone can then read the public pages. Going online requires a plan that includes the site.
  • Pick up where you left off lists drafts and changes not published yet.
  • My card on the Staff page sets what visitors see about you: a Bio of up to 400 characters, or Don’t show me on the Staff page.

Visitor statistics follow: Page views, Visitors, Most viewed pages, Referrers and Devices over the chosen period, and the What the site brings in card, from visits to members who stay on the server. The same numbers appear in the Site traffic tab of Statistics.

The filter at the top of the tab switches between lists: Pages, Wiki, Blog and Comments. Everyone only sees what their permissions allow.

In a list, you can search, create a page (title and Parent page), Set as home page, move it up or down, View or Delete it. Clicking a page opens the editor.

The editor is visual: you write straight on the page, with no markup. The / key opens the block menu:

  • Text and layout blocks: text, lists, task list, quote, code block, callout, bento, divider, table, FAQ, button, call-to-action banner, testimonials, gallery, table of contents, image, video.
  • Module blocks, which show live server data: staff, rules, news, partners, ban appeal, recruitment, form, support, suggestions, leaderboard, clans, giveaways, events, seasons, marketplace, Starlight, vote for the server, member profile, what’s new, search, server pulse, members, join-the-server button, voice channels.

Several people can edit the same page at once: their avatars show under People on this page, and every keystroke is Saved live. Visitors see nothing before Publish changes.

The page’s Settings panel sets:

  • the Page address, the Parent page, the Icon (an emoji, shown in the menu and the wiki index) and the Cover image;
  • the Visibility: Everyone, Server members, Specific roles (with the Allowed roles) or Staff only;
  • the Summary, Tags and Comments open, for blog articles;
  • SEO: title and description for search engines.

Three more actions round off the editor:

  • History: a version is kept on every publish, up to 100. Restore goes back to one of them.
  • Schedule: the page is published automatically at the chosen time.
  • Preview link: shares the page before it is published.

Unpublish takes a live page down without deleting it.

Blog comments lists comments on articles. Those held by moderation wait for your decision: Show, Hide or Delete.

  • Theme: every theme has a light and a dark version, with a Side menu or a Top menu. Fine-tuning changes the Default mode (visitors can switch), the Accent color, the Corner radius, the fonts and the Background.
  • Logo, banner and icon: taken from Discord by default, replaceable with your own images.
  • Custom CSS: applied to the site content, after the theme. External imports and fixed positioning are refused, and images must come from the site’s images.

A Preview shows the result before saving.

Site menu builds the navigation: each link leads to a Page, a Section, an External link, or opens a Dropdown of sublinks. Without a menu, the site lists its published pages in list order.

Vote sites connects top.gg or a server list. Members vote from the site’s Votes page and get the reward set in the Settings tab.

For each site: the Vote page URL, the Key (from the vote site’s owner area), the Display name and the Delay between votes. For top.gg, Kotbo gives a URL and a secret to paste into top.gg’s webhook settings. Top voters this month ranks voters.

Forum categories creates the site forum’s categories. Each one works:

  • On the site only: topics and replies stay on the site;
  • or as a Mirror of a Discord forum channel: each thread becomes a topic, and what is written on the site goes to the channel under the member’s name. Kotbo needs the Manage Webhooks permission on that channel.

Who can write limits writing to some roles (none checked: every member; staff can always write), and Only the staff opens topics reserves topic creation. Latest messages lets you pin or lock a topic and remove a message - a message written on the site is also removed from Discord.

  • Identity: the Site address, the Site name (empty: the server’s name), the Tagline used in link previews, and Server pulse on the home page (online, voice, busy channels, live). Changing the address with Send old links to the site makes the old one redirect.
  • Writers: the roles that can write in the Wiki and the Blog without dashboard access, from their space (see below).
  • Discord announcements: a message in the chosen channel for each published wiki page and each new article, and Open comments on new articles.
  • Rewards: coins and XP for signed-in members who take part on the site - comment, suggestion, event sign-up, forum message. Coins go to the economy and XP to levels, when those modules are on.
  • Automatic site: the site fills itself.
    • Discord announcements → blog: each message in the checked channels becomes an article, updated when edited (with an Article tag and a Minimum length).
    • Module pages: a module turned on gets its page, added to the menu.
    • Weekly recap: one article per week, on the chosen day and time.

  • My space: a signed-in member without dashboard access lands on My space. They set My profile there - their Description and Public profile - which follows them on every server running Kotbo. Writers also find Writing, with New wiki page and New article.
  • Shop: the site’s Shop page sells the offers set up in the Shop tab of Economy.
  • Wiki on Discord: the /wiki command looks up a wiki page and shows it in the channel.

An agent connected through Connect an AI can do everything on the site. While it writes, a banner says so and human editing is locked. Interrupt takes back control and blocks the agent for a while; Allow again lets it resume.
