Drops

The Drops module lays gifts in your channels on its own: nobody triggers them, the bot posts them at an unpredictable time, and members claim them by clicking.

The switch at the top of the block is the master one: turned off, no drop appears, whatever each type is set to.

SettingPurpose
Default channelUsed by drop types that have no channel of their own.
Mentioned rolePinged on every drop. Leave empty to notify nobody.
Lifetime (minutes)After that, an unclaimed drop closes. The Open to everyone mode has its own duration.
Message deletionNever, or 5 min, 30 min, 1h, 6h or 24h after the drop ends, to keep the channel clear. The winners recap goes with the message, and the setting only applies to drops posted afterwards.

A table sums up the five configured types, with the Type, Status, Channel, Frequency and Active modes columns. A type is only Active when its own switch and the master one are on.

The history shows what actually landed: Date, Type, Mode, Amount and Claimed (how many members clicked).

Each type has its own tab, with its channel, frequency, amounts and modes.

TabWhat drops
XPProgression XP: counts towards levels and role rewards.
RPG XPRPG module XP, independent from server levels.
Clan pointsPoints credited to the claimer’s clan. They show up tagged as Drop on the public page.
CoinsEconomy currency, credited to the member’s balance.
RPG itemsA game item drops in the channel and lands in the winner’s inventory.

Kotbo warns you when a drop would have nobody to credit: Clans are disabled, The RPG is disabled, or The … module is disabled: the reward would still be credited, but members could not use it while it stays off.

  • Channel for this type: leave it on Default channel to follow the global setting.
  • Average interval (minutes): the average gap between two drops. The exact time is drawn between half and one and a half times this interval, so nobody can camp the channel. The page shows how many drops per day that represents.

Enable one or several. On each drop the bot picks one at random among those enabled, using the reward range set for that mode.

ModeEffect
First to claimA single winner: the first to click takes it all.
First N membersThe first to click each receive the announced amount. The number of winners ranges from 2 to 50.
Open to everyoneAnyone can help themselves for the open duration given.

Each mode has its own minimum reward and maximum reward: a click race can therefore pay far more than a drop left open to everyone for ten minutes.

An item drop does not roll at random across the whole catalogue: you list explicitly what is allowed to fall.

  • Up to 25 items in the list. With an empty list, no item drop is published.
  • Every item carries a rate in percent, and the page requires the total to be exactly 100%. The Split evenly button shares the hundred points equally.
  • Amounts in this tab are a number of copies (from 1 to 10), not points.

An item removed from the catalogue shows as Deleted item and stops being rolled, without the others losing their ratios to each other.

Changes go through the save bar at the bottom of the screen. Kotbo confirms with Drops configuration saved.
